How good is hermit yoda?

I have been contemplating farming hermit Yoda for a while. I only have 45 shards for him so far so I'm still a little ways away from getting him. I find his skill set very interesting like his basic which recovers both hp and protection to all allies no zeta required (most o5her characters would need one zeta just to get a small fraction of protection back) and his ability to render himself almost impossible to hit sounds like a dream. But what good is it if he escapes a fight when all other allies are dead? Not to mention I have yet to see anyone using him anywhere.
