How to mod reworked Vader/Palp

So i never really got around to modding them correctly to begin with, since by the time i was getting them up to appropriate gear levels, they fell off the charts for really being useful. But now with them making a comeback, what would be the most appropriate way to mod them?

Atm i have vader with speed/potency and palp with speed/health

not even sure i remember why... I'm not entirely sure how i should approach them now, maybe with good ole crit chance/dmg on both? what are people going to be running with?
  • I would give Vader full potency due to his new unique and AoE under Palp lead. He'll gain 20% TM and 25% health for every debuff he grants, so with palp lead and potency mods he'll have a hard time dying.
  • Vader doesnt need a ton of speed when he is with a full empire/sith team. I like full health and protection on vader just because he is so tanky as is.
  • Speed on Vader is much more important now with a Palp Lead. If he goes first, he gets all those buffs up, which he then culls. Everyone instantly gets 15% turn meter from that one cull, and 60% when the other buffs come down.

    Vader going first makes your whole team much better. Get his speed as high as possible along with potency on cross, crit damage on triangle.
  • Speed/Potency on Vader is the best option. Speed/Crit Chance or Crit Chance/Crit Damage on Palp. Vader needs your absolute fastest mods.
  • I have Vader at 300 speed after speed bonus and Palp is 206. And Palp is too slow to have full tm after culling blade. So for Palp the best is speed not crit dmg. I think 220 would be good to max synergy beetwen Palp and Vader. Maybe more
  • everyone says vader full speed is just so narrow minded.
    Vader CD CC is much more dangerous, now that his basic ability is pretty great. he'll probably go first anyway with his unique and good speed secondaries. but he's an attacker - make sure hes modded like one.
    Palp is support, and should be modded like one - Speed. speed set, tons of speed secondaries. triangle of 5.88 with 3+X speed is more useful than 36% CD with X speed. Cross should be potency anyway. the other set can be HP, can be Potency, and can be no-set.
    however, this is arena suggestions. you didn't specify what you need palp and vader for, and with which team. Full empire / double-dou with Sion+DN / Sith... let us know better and we can tell you which turn order to try also.
  • Ignore people saying speed doesnt matter on vader. In arena everyone uses that team, and the winning team is the one with the vader that goes first. Which is why you avoid using kenobi. Thats a 16 speed difference between your vader and theirs.
  • Fast Vader is only against weaker shards that don't have a lot of Sions/DNs. If you run a fast Vader against DN/Sion you are shooting yourself in the foot.

    Need more info about your shard.

    Imo vader have low base crit chance.. if u have CD CC set with big secondary crit chance it's okay, but usually sacrafice speed. Offence set more useful i think. But i use CD CC set on vader when in raid, when he have support from char that give him advantage buff (FOO, phasma, bb8, etc)
  • Fast Vader goes first and more often. That simple. If you are facing ZPalp with Sion/Nihilus, Vader is also usually there. If enemy Vader is faster, you still go after Nihilus. If you boost your Palp speed enough, there is RNG chance you can go before Nihilus. TFP in the squad can also go before Nihilus. If Sion is the only tank, you can put TFP’s ability block on Nihilus to avoid Force Drain. You have options, but you need your Vader to go first. So... speed.
