Is reaching relic 7 even worth it?
So I find this particular issue to be very frustrating. Call me a newb but is it really worth the trouble of fully relicing a toon? Sure mods make all the difference because by the end of the day ever...

you don't need full r7 for arena. For drevan meta an r4 drev, r3 dbast and r6-7 malak should be fine, but the drev meta was more mod-dependent. GAS you need an r7 gas and probably r7 fives, but r4 (or lower, esp for rex) for the rest are fine. It has become easier to win on offense now than in the past imo, espeicially when the gas meta started. slkr and rey need to be r7, but the rest of your team should be fine at GL unlock levels (rey tends to use others like GK etc so depends on who you are using I suppose, I don't have rey yet unfortunately)
As for ships mal and bugs def don't need r7, esp bugs. The problem with going to full r7 arena teams is that resources are scarce and it will also pit you against better/more dangerous overall opponents in gac.
Everything in this game is resource management, so a top heavy roster can hurt you, and a super balanced roster can hurt too lol. glgl
