Is resistance trooper mandatory for an resistance team?

You'd be very careless to put a Zeta on Finn and not have RT, but if that's what you want to do go right on ahead.

He is required for all intents and purposes. GK + Nihilus may be more stable in arena...but....if you have those two, just go for the full meta team and ditch resistance altogether. I can't imagine resistance without RT...90% TM gain if he pops an expose and lands a new expose on basic...amazing way to recover when you are otherwise on a bad run of RNG.

For HAAT he is not mandatory unless you want to deal a ton of damage. Still, you can technically enter battle without him, so I can't say he is mandatory.

Also...not to pick on you....but a few seconds googling before farming resistance might have been a good idea.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone ever made a comparison between ResTrooper and ResPilot?

ResTrooper uses mostly his basic ability, while ResPilot uses mostly her special ability, and ResTrooper's basic does lower damage compared to ResPilot's special.

There might be difference, especially in AAT raid Phase 2&4.

I was doing ok in certain facets of the game with zfinn, poe, zr2, rey and rpilot like gw/tb ground war assault and ok for aat. Short term pilot is ok, but long term trooper optimizes the squad (arena/haat).

If you're in a good guild and earning constant guild currency, farming RT shouldn't be that hard.

He lands exposes more than anyone else and you'll need him to dispell (taunters among others).
Definitely mandatory.

In those phases you should be running both of them alongside bb8. R2 and Rey should sit on the bench. P4 solo is ridiculously, stupidly easy with that crew....like several turns left on the enrage timer and all your toons with protection left, provided they are geared up.

In general, rt is moving so much more often, and can recover your whole team from a bad run of RNG, so I can't imagine rp's damage output could ever close the gap. Plus, rt's dispel is critical for getting around gk, baze, and other taunters. RP has foresight gain that is nearly worthless due to Poe's taunt.

I highly doubt that vet Han and vet Chewie will be needed for the December event.

As of now they are both unavailable to farm for f2p players and ea has always made the toons needed for specific events farmable for f2p players months before the event opens(remember the phoenix squad Thrawn event?)

If there is a resistance event in December, they would’ve needed to make them both farmable last month or the month before. Otherwise you would need to spend thousands of dollars to 7* them and that would not go over well with the community of whales, never mind the f2p players.
