I really don't want to start a fight. That's not the purpose of my question here.
But what, Cynyc, is your objection to the use of "irrational" -- such as in this excerpt:
If people don’t like a character, they’ll be less inclined to farm that character. I don’t consider that “stubborn, Bull-headed”, or “irrational”. I consider that good, common sense.
If people don't like a character, and farm according to their "likes", I would consider that the definition of irrational. It's your emotional response to the character that determines whether or not you farm them. So why wouldn't you agree that this is "irrational"?
And please don't mistake me. I play this game **at all** for irrational reasons. I have fun in this game, particularly when interacting with my guildmates or people on 50 Shards. I like having fun. Therefore I continue to play this game.
My reasons for playing are COMPLETELY irrational. That doesn't mean that they are bad reasons.
At a guess, it seems like you are conflating "irrational reasons" with "bad reasons". I bought someone a bottle of merlot because I love them and they like merlot and I had the money on hand. Was that a "bad reason" to buy merlot? Nope. But it was entirely, completely irrational -- based on emotions and tastes all the way down.
So, purely out of curiosity, are you actually saying that disliking a movie character is a "rational" reason to refuse to farm an SWGOH toon?
Or are you just saying that's common human behaviour, an expected reason, and, for whatever value of "good" you want to use, a good or good enough reason?
I agree with the latter. I don't agree with the former.
