**Magnaguard 3rd ability stun inconsistent **

I k ow it states that this stun cant be evaded, but it also doesnt give a percentage of success. I have used it several times and the opposing character was not stunned. A description rewrite may be needed because currently it is not accurate for the rate of stunned for buffed/non buffed opponents.
  • Sure it is. What's the Potency or Tenacity of the teams involved?

If no percentage is given and it can't be evaded then there's a 100% chance it goes through the P/T check. That's all. It still has to pass and then there's still a 15% chance it fails/gets resisted anyway.

Think of the percent chance in the ability description not of "Does the character get stunned x% of the time" but rather "Does the character attempt to apply stun x% of the time".
  • As stated above, each attack goes through 3 checks (basically)

1 does it hit - cant be evaded applies here
2 does it produce the effect - the % applies here, no stated % means it will always produce this effect
3 potency/tenacity check - cannot be resisted applies here, or the potency tenacity equation with a 15% min chance to resist

So I went through the checklist. It hit, and did not apply and this was during the marquee event trying to apply the stun to Cody I believe. He was unbuffed and was not stunned. I believe it was round 5 with the event units. So if no percentage it should have stunned and target was debuffed. Just want someone to put another pair of eyes on the magnadroid or let me know what part I might still be overlooking
  • It still has to pass the Potency/Tenacity check. Even if it passes that, there is still a 15% base chance that it gets resisted anyway.

It's working as intended. Unless you have video showing the character actually get stunned/turn blue then cleanse instantly...

    From SWGOH.GG

Deal Physical damage to target enemy and dispel all buffs on them. Then, Stun them for 1 turn. If no buffs were dispelled, reset the cooldown of this ability.

So you attacked. The attack wasn't evaded. That's step one of the ability. Damage was indicated on screen I imagine.

Onto step 2 - dispel. They would have lost any buffs on them.

Onto step 3 - Stun. It does not give " x% chance to stun the target for 1 turn' so the chance of TRYING TO STUN is 100%. It still must successfully pass the Potency/Tenacity check AND hopefully isn't randomly resisted by the permanent 15% base chance. The only unavoidable un-resistable stun I'm aware of is KRU's "Halt" (...Greedo "Threaten" if less than 20%TM, Thrawn "Manipulate" if they had ability block, and Han's "Shoots First", however all three of these have caveats). If it doesn't say "this stun cannot be resisted" then the target always has a minimum 15% chance to resist.

The only way the stun lands is if you win the P/T check AND the base chance of 15% isn't rolled.

Greedo with a zeta on threaten also gets an unresistable stun.
  • @Droideka that is true. As long as they drop below 20% TM. Good point!

Same with Thrawn’s basic and Han’s opening move.
  • Alright alright. Back to the actual topic now. I've edited my lengthy post to include the other three, somewhat.

Actually, as an aside, all 3 other abilities require other things to happen to successfully stun the target:

Greedo - must reduce below 20% TM (his is the only other one that can't be resisted OR evaded)
Thrawn - target must have Ability Block first AND not evade the attack
Han - only on opening move and it's still avoidable if the target happens to have Foresight.

Han’s basic can’t be evaded. Only way to avoid his opening stun is to be immune to stun.

You may be correct, but it seems unlikely. You could prove it however. SImply record a video where the character doesn't end up stunned and it doesn't say "resisted".
