So it is called "variety". Chars are different, and instead of calling for nerfs left, right and center, you may choose for yourself
That why 90% of people at the top of every bracket run Geonosian. That your idea of variety?
Put obi wan, Leia, TIE pilot and Rey in shipments or cantina battles, and his will change. Drastically. He is now used because better characters are not available for f2p (or are a very long farm). Put all avaiLable characters in shipments, and entire arena teams will change quickly

Except there is no way what you suggest will ever happen. And yes, GS is in quite a lot of arena teams - and almost always in the FTP ones.
Should he be nerfed to irrelevance? Absolutely not. But the fact that one of the more powerful toons in the entire games (and one of the most used in arena outside of maybe Poe, Lumi and Sid - who are least all "main characters") seems a bit silly.
Incidentally, I do have him - but I find it amusing that most of the people opposed to nerfing do so on the grounds of "I have him and he's AWESOME!!!" - yeah, we get that.
The problem with many of the nerf threads is that they often boil down to "I've got him, so don't nerf" or "I don't got 'em, so NERF!" It would be nice to seem some objectivity every now and then instead of everyone simply defending the position that is simply the most self-serving
