I'd go with OB over Kanan, but if you have Aayla and R2 ready to roll I'd probably just go with them. The other added benefit of Aayla is that you'll have a second attacker so Ezra's Watch and Learn can fire off some auto crits...it would be pretty beastly to have Aayla attack, auto crit, stun, possibly call someone to assist, and Ezra also follow up with 1-2 auto crits of his own.
I actually have a zetaed Number Crunch R2 in my arena Rebel team. R2 is incredibly versatile so I can swap him into my Jedi "B" team with no issues and his number crunch will help tremendously in a Jedi team. Since he's naturally fast, you can soft taunt with smokescreen first before the tanks can actually do their real taunt which actually helps with stuff like double dispels from Baze. The only thing that he doesn't have is the initial foresight from zQGJ which can be resolved using a fast Yoda to copy that foresight. And if you zeta his other ability which cleanses on player crit, he can sorta emulate a GK in a Jedi team, useful since Jedi seem to crit a lot.
I have Aayla at 4 stars gear 8, compared to my other Jedi who are at gear 9-10, she's still quite weak. I'm gonna devote all my cantina energy to OB once I'm done with Hera since OB is the only character I do not have to unlock CLS. Not sure how good Aayla is at absorbing damage but figure she might be a good pseudo-tank especially with her assists and counter attacks. Be a long while before I get either character to 7 stars though I already have Kanan at 7 stars gear 8, not too willing to gear him past 8. Will test it out until then.
