I got curious last night and started asking around for people to spread Plague with Cassian. While only one copy of Plague would be copied (like a Damage over Time effect), no Plague was copied at all. I have spent today trying to figure out why with no clear answer. Opening up a thread on Reddit (See https://www.reddit.com/r/SWGalaxyOfHeroes/comments/78552x/plague_and_cassian/) led to answers that I had already thought through.So..how does Plague work? Even though it is a "locked debuff", that should only affect its ability to be dispelled/cleansed. Every other locked status effect in the game (Armor Shred, Fracture, Call to Action, Backup Plan, and Bounty Hunter's Resolve) either has yellow text identifying it as a "Unique Effect" which makes it unable to be copied by Grand Master Yoda, or a specific wording in the description (Fracture) that states it cannot be copied (Armor Shred isn't a debuff and is therefore excluded from being able to be copied in any way). Plague lacks all of this. It simply seems to exist as a debuff with a locked icon, which would make it able to be copied in theory- but doesn't. Ideally posting here can get me some clearer answers, and feel free to add opinions or thoughts on it of your own!

I think it comes down to whether it should be a “Unique Effect” or not.I would say Cassian should be able to copy it unless it says "this debuff can't be copied", like Thrawn's fracture ability text, but I'm betting the interaction just wasn't considered or it can't last one turn like the other debuffs he inflicts with crippling shot

There is no turn limit on plague, it lasts until its specific criteria are met. To put a turn limit on the ability would mean to completely rewrite how it works. Sounds like a big pain to me, and an unnecessary one to boot.

There is a 3 turn limit on plague. Read her abilities. The only one that doesn't state a turn limit is her lead which is still a 3 turn.
Plague goes away at 3x full turn complete or healed to full health or death
You can also see it expire in battle.

Well I guess I'm wrong then. I thought you had to get to full health to get rid of it otherwise it stayed around forever like Zader's DoTs.

Does plague affect kylo like others or does he still take reduced damage?

Yes he takes 0.1% damage instead of 5%

Plague is a unique ability because it can't be dispelled, whereas burning can be, so even though only R2 can inflict it, it doesn't count as unique.

Why does it need to count as damage over time? It counts as a debuff and is technically damage over time.

This (I don’t believe) is correct. While it’s the most common assumption, Plague being “locked” just visually shows it can’t be dispelled. Burning can be. Both only have one source, and neither are “Unique Effects” that have yellow text to identify them as such.

I agree with you there. Only having one source of a debuff doesn’t make it unique to me. It has to be identified as such. A good example to disproove the locked = unique thing is the raids. The debuff you get on enrage is locked however comes from several different sources.

Great example! Only status effects written in that yellow font color are truly "Unique Effects". I wish there was some official explanation on how Plague is supposed to interacted due to all of this.
