I admit I haven't read the entire thread, but I've faced the problem of doing very little damage against Nihilus in early Sith raids with most of my teams. The only team that did considerable damage was Empire under Palpatine. Or rather, it was Palpatine himself who burned through Nihilus's protection with force lightning.
