Would you sacrifice 4 speed points on an attacker (specifically Vader) to have a crit damage triangle, i.e. 36% CD instead of protection??? Specific case is in arena team of Palp(L), Vader, Thrawn,...

Having the correct primary on certain toons is more valuable than 4 speed, but you have to look at the toon. Since you are talking Vader specifically then no, the speed is more important. Vader's primary job in arena is to run the TM train, the damage you get from him is secondary.
Now if you're talking someone like Sion, the crit damage is much more important than 4 speed.
