Shimera vs tarkin ship

I like it better. I feel his unique is better when bringing in reinforcements.

Specials are kinda a wash, but chimera does heal a ship too.

Chimaera is much better for sure.

I’ve been fighting 7 star chimeras in my shard for awhile, and I have had no problems using tarkin Capital ship. I like Tarkin’s Capital ship more than thrawns.

The only times I lose in ship arena is against mace windu Capital ships. A strong mace windu can be very RNG based and there’s still a chance to lose every fight.

Yeah his taunt& valor makes me lose against even lower power fleets sometimes

I used to love running Mace. But Thrawn started owning him with RNG highly in his favor. Thrawn can Auto most Ships

Currently playing with an Home One led fleet and... I think I prefer Thrawn match-ups. Tarkin’s ultimate usually is a game over for me. I’ll probably get my 7* Chimera but I’m also close to get a 7* executrix (currently 75/100)... I don’t know yet which one will replace my H1.

It is pretty rare Tarkins ultimate ever comes into it, especially if maxed Thrawns so reduced cooldown.

I use my 5* Chimera over my 7* Executrix in fleet arena. I love Tarkins ship but that extra critical damage that Chimera gives to Empire allies is game changing in the first few turns. It sure is nice taking out an enemy Reaper before the enemy Biggs gets his taunt away.

I think Chimaera is overall better, but Tarkin is still competitive. When you are on offense, you have an advantage because the system doesn't know how to use the abilities or target correctly--that kind of AI is beyond the scope of this game. So the problem that Ackbar and Mace leads have against Tarkin is the ultimate wipes them as they are about to take out the last ship. Against Chimaera I imagine the danger is getting wiped by the starfighters, but if you draw it out and can beat the enemy fleet first, maybe you have an edge if Chimaera ultimate targets the wrong ship or something (this is guesswork, as I've never attacked Chimaera with anything but Chimaera).

On offense, that enemy Tarkin ship will never use the ultimate...you've plowed through them by then. In the rare case where a battle has ever been drawn out so long that I need to use my ultimate, it still goes before the enemy. And I think that situation is mostly against other Thrawns.

Mace with the right team can be annoying in that maybe the battle can get drawn out to 3 minutes with bad RNG, but Inwould say there's no danger of losing. It's certainly easier to tear through any tough ships with taunt than other leads.

I would definitely say that Chimaera is better overall and gives an edge over Tarkin. But if you're running the ship meta of Biggs, Vader, and the other big target lockers, Tarkin can still be competitive since AI can't necessarily use Thrawn and Tarkin ultimate is so devastating.
