Why Shore with Rex? Shore grants crit immunity, Rex grants TM whenever some gets crit.
I know these two are counter-productive but I do not have an alternative Taunter/Tank available at the moment - I don't have GK, I don't have Baze, I don't even have StHan so Shore is my best option.

Then get rid of rex.
You're trying to mix exclusive LS and DS toons, it won't work. R2 has nothing to do in a DS side team either, he'll buff Rex only.
GK is a key character in such team, using Shore instead just breaks your entire team. At this point you should focus on an Empire team instead.
Even Old ben would be a better choice along with R2, Mind trick will save you one or two turns until Nihilus starts his killing spree. Lack of cleanse would be an issue though so a full DS team under Thrawn lead would work better too.
R2D2 is in that team for the following:
- To provide stealth to negate CLS counter teams & to put de-facto taunt on Shore so he doesn't have to use his own taunt that negates rex's lead. I rarely have to use Shore troopers actual taunt due to R2D2.
I ran the following team before this:
- Thrawn (L), Nihlus, Moff Tarkin, Death Trooper & Shore
Before CLS appeared that team held really well but now it just doesn't seem to work? I would PREFER to use that Empire team as it was fun to use, but this hybrid team seems to be much easier on offence. The problem with the Empire team sempt to be the reliance on AoE which inevitably triggers mass counter attacks from CLS rebel teams. You have Nihlus AoE which is a must, Tarkins TM AoE which is also important, and Death Troopers cooldown AoE which is also important. Thats a large portion of my arsenal that just gives their whole team the chance to counter.
