Things I'd wish I'd known when I started playing SWGOH

I wish I’d known that it’s better to have a few good characters than several weak ones, since I started by just collecting everyone I could, and putting only a few resources into each of them. I remember I couldn’t beat some of the easy marquee events because my toons weren’t strong enough.

I wouldn't have put any resources in a lot of characters. Would have focused on Phoenix and empire first.

I wish I had built my arena team as strong as possible instead of collecting so many toons
I wish I hadn't dropped MkIII Carbs on so many useless toons because at the time I had about 1000. I didn't know we'd need so many in the future (NS Initiate)
I wish I had left my bad guild for a good guild that was clearing HPIT and then done so again when I had enough GP to be in a HAAT farm guild

i wish i'd known sooner that generally the best use for crystals is to buy more energy for farming. it took far too long for me to realize how valuable that is.

1. That taking a long break from the game, on a very early shard, was something that shouldn't be done.
2. Set expectations lower for character drops.

I think this is the big one for everyone. The mistake that everyone makes when starting out on the game- wastage. How many useless, geared up characters do we all have on our roster that we NEVER use. And how many useful characters we are busting the proverbial nut trying to farm...

Sigh...

Gear is more important than stars.
Speed is the Graal in this game.
Mods are important, very important, focus on speed and protection in early experience.
Play arena immediately and try to develop a good team

I wish I had not wasted time on completing all toons available to grind or procure through stores, many of the most really are worthless and I could have exchanged for shards then gear but that was not an option when I began. I don’t think I have completed any legendary event based on already having some toon from those levels. Every release has required panic farming.

I wish I had not taken most of my toons to 30 or 50 for GP purposes. They did not help in TW other than put us in a higher competition set. I should have focused on my top and mid tier and ignored the bottom until needed.

I wish I had not spent crystals on sims when hat was a thing.
