To those who said Thrawn was impossible for F2P

I am FTP and finish #1 in arena most days. That puts me way ahead of most FTP players.

I had been farming DN in shard shop before he got swapped out... as I result I had no Cantinia or Arena Tokens, when phoenix was released. I also only had 600 crystals onhand when phoenix was announced and there were double drops.

I managed to get a 5Star Thrawn when it was released... And could get a 6star had I keep putting resources into it. I do not think it is worth it however...

7 Star "Might" have been possible, Key would have been buying Cantina energy for up to 200 a pop when drops were doubled.

Kanan would be the hardest to get to 7star. 20 max per day for 14 days equals 280 shards, so doable. But, would require 22400 arena tokens, But you would only earn 15400 if you finished 1st in arena every day. So you would have had to have 7k saved before the start. If you missed a shipment refresh, you will have to pay crystals to refresh it.

To the original author... You have a 7star Baze!.... Not exactly common for FTP. I suppose shard shop:).

My situation is very similar to yours. Unfortunately I was so low on arena currency there just wasn't a way for me to reach 7* in time, think I would've been roughly 20/30 shards short.

Same. If you can afford the 100 100 100 200 200 refreshes in Cantina you can 7* Thrawn without paying for anything. I get first in arena daily and had 3k crystals saved.

I will have them all 7* the very last day per my spreadsheet.

Yep, I went all in when he first got put there and farmed him from the first day he got put into LS 9C + I started buying shards from shipments about once or twice a week a couple of months back.

Who cares if it's not 7* you cut his usefulness in half.

Usefulness is relative to the individual. While it is a shame I can't use him in raids which sounds like it would've been a lot of fun, it has no effect on usefulness for me since I can already finish where I want in raids. This was solely for arena where 6* Thrawn is completely viable and very useful on offense at least.

The DN issue is what I believe has thrown off some of the F2P. There is enough time to 7* five Phoenix if you had currency on hand (without needing to rely on miracle packs) and crystals on hand for refreshes. Thankfully, I went hard at Krennic in shard shop, and so I didn't go hard at DN (I picked up some shards from the shard shop, but I wasn't really burning much currency for it -- I wanted to replenish my stash after depleting it for Krennic). That's going to allow me to get a full 7* squad by the last day of the event -- not only do I have the currencies for Kanan/Chopper/Zeb, but I have excess that can be converted to get Hera/Ezra shards from the shard shop.

People don't need a 7 star Thrawn to viable in arena, except if you want to use him in raids. I used a 5 star palpatine in arena for several months. Same deal with DN. I only recently got DN to seven stars.

The reason people want Thrawn at 7 stars is to double dip characters into pve and pvp. Instead people are force to use alternative characters in raids that aren't as viable in arena, GW, ect.

People do not want to level a raid squad and a pvp squad. That is why most guilds have trouble in phase 2 and 3 of the HAAT raid.
