you need Palpatine because he has 3 specials with Manuever with relatively low cooldowns
DT would have the same. A special would always be available.
yes but he will have 2 to 3 turns waiting for cooldowns, palpatine only waits 1 turn and also Krennic doesn't have any wait
Palpatines two cooldowns are 4 and 3.
Deathtroopers two cooldowns are 4 and 3.
The main difference is Palp gives the party offense up, Deathtrooper applies Deathmark for bonus damage.
(And of course, stats.)

Yup. :) I'm about a week away from trying myself. (Damn Omegas...)
I figure Deathmark will be a pretty substantial damage increase and speed things up. Also just Deathtrooper flat out hits harder than Palp on both his specials.

Just double checked .gg;
Palpatine:
3 turn cooldown, ~3600 damage fixed.
4 turn cooldown, ~2900-3200 damage, Special Damage, scaling
(Rare basic, 6600-7300)
Deathtroooer:
3 turn cooldown, 8200-9000, scaling, applies debuff that gives all subsequent hits a 3600 damage kicker.
4 turn cooldown, 1100 damage, scaling.
(Rare basic: 3600-4000)
So, his AoE doesn't hit as hard until you factor in Deathmark (but also doesn't drain your Shoretrooper), but holy moly does his short CD ability hit so much harder.
