To lend a little perspective to this, I run a beefed up all-droid team led by HK with the three IGs and Grievous. I do pretty well and usually sit comfortably in the top 50. With a refresh I can break top 20 but the gear bottleneck means I can't push further as all except IG100 are stuck on gear VIII.
About 10 minutes ago I faced off against the 4 clones and Lumi, run by a player called ErikTheRed (if you're here, stand up and be recognised!). Dude smashed the life out of me. I have never been so decisively beaten in the 7 months I've played this game. He had a 1000pt Power advantage and a level on me with every toon but it felt like he had a 10,000 Power advantage. If you've got the cash and/or the patience then Clones appear to be a real contender... He's also probably making an absolute killing in the Battle Event right now, too. Scary.
