What is the new GAC strategy for new players???

Question

I want to know what is the new GAC strategy for new players who just reach lvl 85???
I have 3 teams:
Phoenix
Bad Batch and
Geonosians(17000+ power, WAT ready)
Geonosian fleet

With the new GAC format I don't get banners for setting defence?!?
I just want GAC tokens so I can buy gear.

What is the new GAC strategy for tokens?
Do I put level 1 defence and try to attack with my existing teams or what?
Please help!

Same as always, balance offense and defence.  It’s replacing arena, so your crystal income depends on it.

You don't get banners for defense, but if you have empty slots, your opponent will automatically get full banners for those slots.

And if you put lvl 1 toons on defense, your going to lose.  No it’s, no buts, no maybes.
