- For me I can beat all the wiggs Team and conquer top3 every day, but sometimes I need 50-100 Crystal for refresh because A) wiggs combo is so strong that if you are unlucky it doesn’t matter that you start the Match because the enemy can shoot back after your first AOE and most wiggs Teams Pack 4 DPS and one Tank and Droids have JE and B2 which means Utility but NO damage compared to the power from the other team... B) I have the feeling that my Droids are often the "easy" target and I have to work more for my rank each day and C) I cant use a 5th random Slot since it pretty much needs HK, 2 DPS guys (common IG88 + 86 some mix IG100 or GG) and JE and B2 and overall the toons lack power. Even if we get a new robot (looking at upcoming movie) it will only be good if you can put it in for JE or B2, it will not change much if it is only a small DPS upgrade compared to basic both IGs.
For upcoming Meta, we will see. Empire is slightly better for Droids if you have a fast B2, get rid of shoretrooper Taunt and kill palp as target number one. Nobody knows how good QGJ is with zeta but jedi are now one of the easiest target for Droids and it should be the same with Zeta. Push B2 so he get rid of foresight and follow up with damage before jedi can move. But zeta is a new huge thing and we all dont knew what other stuff will happen with zeta.
I build an Empire Team as an alternativ to my Gear XI Droids because I think Empire with shore and TFP should be good against all the Rebells and you can fill Slot 5 with B2 or New Boba both should work well. - I think, if they do put the robot from Rogue One in, he'll probably be a support of some kind. I don't recall ever seeing him with a weapon of any sort, and he doesn't exactly have the look of a combat droid. It could be used as a way of giving us a healer who can still be effected by HK lead.
I do kinda worry about what our future viability will be. Unless a droid gets a Zeta upgrade, it's going to get increasingly hard to fight the enemies that do.
Also, because I adore my IG-100, if he could get an upgrade that gives him 100% counter (and maybe even a taunt of some kind), that'd be just swell. One of the most common issues I'm running into right now is that the AI often focuses my flimsiest droid (IG-88), and he goes down super fast. Having some way of protecting him so he can get off the insane aoe damage would be very helpful.
Another change could be to Grievous where, instead of forcing taunt on a random ally, he forces it onto the highest health one. I want to have Grievous in my squad because of all his utility (that sweet, sweet aoe heal-block), but having him get dropped low and forcing a taunt on IG-88/86 would be a pretty great way for me to lose. Get rid of b2, insert shore - that way your 88 lives a lot longer...
Apart from that: droids were a top-squad since game launch, and they always will be!
But since they are glasscannons, they will always lose a lot of ranks overnight...
G11 helps them a lot, especially in the damage department (and in case of 88 w some extra speed)...
The problem is, Shore is a bastard to get for an F2P player, same with JE. That's why I either run a Jedi healer or an extra tank (usually Chewie for the small amount of downtime between taunts or Royal Guard because it's Royal Guard).
Also, does HK get any speed from the higher gear levels? His leader helps a lot, but at G8 his speed is still lower than my 2*, G5 Greedo. I get that Greedo is meant to be fast, but this is a bit much.- ddlooping210 years agoSeasoned AceHi all :)
Could Jawa Engineer still be fast enough to start vs a Zeta-ed QGJ lead team?
If yes, wouldn't IG-100's 2nd ability be a good counter for said team? - I've been getting decent results using a speedy STH instead of JE. It works really well as long as my STH goes before anyone on the other team. The synergy isn't quite as good, but he feeds TM on top of HK leader ability.

I know it's still a way away but is STH going to be faster than a Zeta-ed QGJ? - I tried fixing turn order as suggested by jackTHErandom, but scrapped it because the problems it creates with Wiggs teams. Remember that Biggs gets 100% TM on a crit. So he can slip in a OHKO before your 88 gets a chance to move. A speedy STH could work but it's really challenging to get him faster than Biggs due to Wedge's unique. More generally, HK has such a low base speed that you need some serious speed secondaries to get him faster than 88 (unless you want to put almost no speed on the latter).
I like the idea of using a speedy Shoretrooper, though. But it comes back to the age old problem of who you sub out for him. Assume HK is a must because of his leader ability. If you take out 86 or 88, do you have enough DPS to survive? If you take out JE, you run into the problem that Shoretrooper will not get up crit immunity before you get blasted. Because of their higher base speeds, it's not really a problem to have QGJ go first to dispel ST followed immediately by a STH taunt followed shortly thereafter by game over.
B2 seems like the best droid to go in that set up. So the thought is that JE recalibrates and fills the TM of all your droids. You KO Wedge. If Biggs gets a special off, it hits ST. Lando could get off a special but that's ok as long as your ST is fast enough to get his taunt and crit immunity up before Lando goes again. Now you're in business. You can ignore Lando. But you better KO STH quickly. Biggs is still dangerous even without Wedge -- he's an incredible last man standing due to his speed, evasion and self healing (under Wedge lead).
I think the shoretrooper tournament is coming back so don't despair if you don't have him. Even at 3* he works if you gear and mod him.
As far as ships go, so sad that droids were left in the dust. Hopefully, they fix that soon. - Love playing with droids but as the game stands they are falling behind. Their buffs are RNG based, and you end up having low hitters (JE, B2, Nebit) or middle hitters (100, HK, Grevious). Other teams could have up 5 hard hitting toons but usually 4.
Some matches are determined if you are able to ability block, or place defense down or who was your assist. They need a slight rework, to be effective end game. Hopefully it will happen, keeping my fingers crossed. Maybe @EA_Jesse will pass our plead along :# "ddlooping2;774487" wrote:

Probably not. I'm using STH as a stop-gap until I have an alternate arena team ready.- Shoretrooper doesent even need to be speedy and launch crit immune his autotank helps........he can take a bigs special to the face n still have protection(even at 3*) sthan is a non issue and landos first aoe is really ass anyway.....but at tge end of the day if HK or 88 aoe ability blocks 2 rebels any 2 its pretty much over on defense its a different beast but droids will always lose on def anyway ive seen a maxed rebel team lose bc hk and 88 ability blocked hand lando wedge han wedge bigs any 2 srsly.....like yea bugs can 1 shot 88 if hes not ability blocked but 1 u probolly killed at least 1 toon n 2 JE will bring back dead droid and nebit will taunt if the opps 5th is QGJ they will dispell but the cooldown reduce is what matters
