So I just got caught in an epic loop of Zombie constantly taunting after being killed an ungodly amount of times, surely this isn't what was in mind when you made his leader?

Nah because Kylo ramps up his damage faster and Gas ends up stunned constantly, GAS doesn’t beat that team, other teams do though.
How can Kylo ramp up his damage if he never get a turn?
Did you even try to fight this with a GS Team?
You can beat it with GS fairly easy. Check out GS kit if you wanna know more about his Bonus damage over time...
