Can't access account

I managed to solve this looking at some answers in different threads.
1) Closed the game (forced it).
2) Went to Settings -> Apps, clicked 'show all apps' here.
3) Cleaned cache and all data separately for both Google Play Games and Google Play services.
4) Started game, it auto logged in, I did not have to choose my account.
You won't see Google Play services by default, and cleaning Google Play Games alone does not help. Installing older Google Play Games does not help either.

I have also had this issue on my main using a galaxy s7. I can login on 2 alt accounts using this same phone aswell as starting a guest account.

I have cleared the cache, reinstalled the game, checked for irregularities between the google play accounts settings.

Phone has been reset used on wifi and on data.
