Can't download localization files

Hello,
I went to play Swgoh on my pc after the new update but now comes up with an error stating: 'There was an error downloading localization files. You may not have enough disk space available'. I've tried re downloading it and and repairing it and still doesn't work does anyone know a fix?

Based on your logs the files are blocked:

The process cannot access the file 'Loc_ENG_US.txt' because it is being used by another process.

    it could be related to:
    1. There anti-virus/security locking the file
    2. You have another copy of the game stuck in the background
    3. Somehow have the loc file open while trying to start the game.
  • @EA_Gunner good to know. I actually just downloaded the latest update and now it works I don't get the error anymore, I didn't touch anything else, curious what happened now as I surely didn't have another session of the game launched and have never touched of my AV settings which all I have is Microsoft Defender.

  • I'm having the same issue, but not sure how to fix the issue if it's any of these three things. I've unintstalled and reinstalled Heroes as well as the EA app including the download launcher.

I'm also having this issue.  I've completely uninstalled and reinstalled SWGOH, and had my antivirus disabled when installing/running for the first time, and I still get this "can't download localization files" error.  I've got 300GB free so it's not a lack of space, antivirus was disabled so it wouldn't be interfering.  It's none of the possible reasons that were given earlier in this thread.

  • Fixed this myself by just deleting the localization file, and the game replaced the file and then worked just fine when I started it up next!

The path to the localization file can be found in the player.log file requested earlier in the thread (C:\Users\YOUR_USER\AppData\LocalLow\Electronic Arts\SWGOH\Player.log)

  • Similar thing happened to me today. Tried uninstalling the game and EA app and restarted my pc. Also tried looking at the localization file but I couldn't find it in the files.
