Game freezing and crashing during GAC, TB, squad arena

So I've been experiencing this bug for the last 2 weeks or so during the TB (in particular during the Third Sister ROTE mission), GAC and squad arena. Basically as soon as I launch the mission or initiate the battle, right from the start or at some point during the battle, game just freezes then suddenly crashes.

Today I attempted to do the GAC battles, managed to do 1 successfully, and just as I was about to almost finish the second one the game suddenly froze the crashed

Bug occurs not every single time but occasionally (almost 30-40% of the time)
