Game wont let me buy anything in the store, including era pass

Since the start of the new era the store is completely busted. I tried buying the era pass as im aiming for 5 star unlock for darth jar jar but it gives me a purchase timeout message after loading for like 20 seconds. Really annoying as this throws off my plan and might make me miss tier 4 of the mara jade marquee event or if this persists even the 5 star unlock. Tried reaching out to EA help but they told me to try a different payment method, which is not possible since the game doesnt get to the actual payment select part
