Going on a month now and 7 pages of posts, with no resolution. Just. Plain. Awful.
Huge development release today with major game changes. But did anyone stop to think, "Hey, maybe we should make the stuff we added last month work right before piling on"? Nope, apparently not.
Be honest here, @EA_HighCommand, is this ever going to get fixed or have the developers basically relegated it to the dust bin, figuring most players have "resolved it" themselves by switching guilds despite that they don't really want to or even need to? What about guild leaders and officers who don't have that option? Do they just get pissed on and pushed by the wayside? Ah, who cares about them anyway? They're in the minority, these most dedicated of players. Who cares about them!

We can understand the frustration and know how eager you are to complete the quest. Rest assured that we have not forgotten about and will fix it with a future update. On a side-note: As you may have seen in Carrie's recent post: We do care about you.
So I finally caved and left the guild and immediately rejoined. I’m not sure if the short duration caused it, or a patch was done a while back but my donations timer didn’t reset and it looks like I might be able to continue with the STR that was underway. The quest finished as soon as I rejoined my guild. So at initial look the only thing I lost was all of my historical/lifetime stats.
Just 1 man experience. If my initial feels end up being wrong I will repost to inform you guys of this.
So i guess I didn’t update the game, but i now can’t access the exchange for the normal 24h window. So looks like all the normal issues are still in effect. Still probably worth it though.
@EA_HighCommand will this bug be addressed in the hot fix scheduled for tomorrow?
Can you please give us some kind of ETR, or at least an indication of where this issue falls on your priority list for a fix, so players can make an informed decision on whether we want to continue waiting for a fix vs taking the hit and just doing what the quest is demanding?
Got my rewards this morning with a mini-update/bug-fix.

Took a long time but finally didn't need to jump guilds.
