I lost a bunch of progress on my ships

On july 24th, I realised my progress was lost on many of my ships. Some of my ships, such as Outrider and Emperor's shuttle were set back to before activation, with the only shards being the ones I had in excess of their current stars (for example, Outrider was at 5 or 6 stars, and it went down to needing to be activated with only 74 shards left, which was the amount I had farmed up to the next star tier). Most of my ships have also had their ability levels bumped down (I used to always have my ships' abilities at max level, not many of them are level 1 to 4. 

I tried using the EA Help link in the app, but the support bot basically gave me unrelated advice for 2 weeks and then marked the conversation as finished. I've also tried the bug report forum, but they said they were not aware of any progression bug. But, well, I can say that that ship was activated. I'd been farming for it for weeks. It feels like no one has actually even tried looking at the issue yet.

Would it be possible to get my progress back? I spent a lot of crystals on energy to farm those stars.

Running the game on a Samsung Galaxy S8, no emulator, downloaded from the google play store. There are no accounts I use, I have never used any other. 

I don't have a screenshot of my previous progress sadly. I am hoping that the devs have a way of looking up what my progress was at a past moment in time and comparing it with the current state of my account. If there is any additional info I can give, let me know.
