Summarize your bug Broken calculation or clarification needed for "Immediate" Bonus Turn. Using abilities stated to have an "Immediate" bonus turn granted does not guarantee that you will get to act next.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Steps listed in post - GMYoda's ability Masterstroke and the Separtist Assault Battle event ability Moment of Glory are the relevant abilities to the problem.

There are a couple of character or event abilities which provide a character with what is stated as an "Immediate" turn following the use of that ability.  However, there are times in which this 'Immediate' turn does not happen before other characters act.

The short version is it would appear that these abilities essentially grant 100% turn meter, and when there are multiple characters all at 100% turn meter, either allies or enemies, it becomes random who takes their turn, resulting in other characters acting before the "Immediate" turn happens.  The language stating that these turns are to be "Immediate", implies to me that no matter what, that turn should happen next, even if other characters are currently at 100% turn meter.

Longer version; one example would be with the current Separtist assault battle event.  Running a Jedi squad which contains Grand Master Yoda.

During GMY's turn, use the ability Mastertroke: - '.....gains an immediate bonus turn as long as there is one other living Jedi ally'

If you are on a phase in which there are B2 droids present, using Masterstroke may trigger their Relentless Barrage ability, which would give them 100% turn meter.

This is the first point where the bug might occur.  It does not always happen, but any or all B2 droids *may* take their turn before GMYoda gets his "Immediate" turn.

In the same way, if GMYoda then follows up Masterstroke by using the event ability Moment of Glory - 'Gain an immediate turn with the following benefits.....', the same result could occur again.  B2 droids may take their turn betore GMYoda gets his immediate turn.

In addition to the B2 droids, I have also had allied characters who happened to be at 100% turn meter also take their turn in between one of GMYoda's set of "immediate" turns.

There are a number of other characters which have bonus turn based abilities, Han Solo would be one example, but none of them use the language "immediate", which would make it seem that the above two abilities are in a separate class.

  • Hi @ButtStallion507 and thank you for the detailed report.

We are aware of the coin flip situation, where more than one character has 100% turn meter and then it is randomly decided who goes first. We are already looking into possible ways to improve the mechanic in those situations but it is not an easy thing to change.

Is this case supposed to be a coin flip though?  The wording of these two abilities, ie "Immediate" make it seem as though they shouldn't be granting 100% TM (which leads to the coin flip), but granting another turn immediately.

Of course, there may not be any mechanism to do this, and solutions around the coin flip problem could also solve this.  Was still curious whether there is a separate intent with these abilities versus all of the other 100% TM/extra turn situations for which a coin flip (currently) would still make sense.

"Immediate" means they gain 100% turn meter, which then leads to the coin flip situation. Currently, there is no other game mechanic in place which unintentionally lead to many of those situations (TM swap by Thrawn for example).

There are many scenarios that lead to this.
    Solo shoot first
    GMY special
    Wicket Unique
    Embo Unique

are just a few off the top of my head

There is also some way you have (EA/CG) to make sure that the character does take the next action and

    • Target ally of Grand Admiral Thrawn’s "Grand Admiral's Command" will now always take the next action.

IMO every ability that states immediate turn should be set up like this not just papa smurf

Hi @scuba75 yeah, we have played around with that a lot lately and fixed the TM swap for Thrawn and will continue to do so for other characters as well.
