Right, but that's if it took another turn before you removed the stacks of whatever buff it had, right? You have to apply so many debuffs before you get rid of it. And if it takes a turn they're gone.
For some reason I thought there was different behavior at enraged, like it goes twice in a row or something.

Because the AI prioritises spit first, it's usually on cooldown the turn after the first swallow.
So the dragon can take one turn with someone swallowed, but you need to remove all the stacks before they spit.
Otherwise the swallowed unit is defeated.
Once it's enraged it can swallow twice in a row. It also gains so many stacks at that point you're not going to bring them back from that.
