Mandolorian and Grogu ERA loan units not leveling

Since the start of the latest ERA sequence, the loaner units have not received any upgrades and are still at level 0.  The current highlighted unit is stuck at level 5.  Based on the description for the new event, this is supposed to be easier.  However, with the current game play, I can't damage the boss units in the event.  Is there a big or a fix?  Not an enjoyable era season this time around so far.
