Rancor Raid "Connection Error" Bug

What type of issue do you have? Network/Connection
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Summarize your bug At the end of the Rancor Raid, it freezes and I get the infamous "Connection Error" message instead of "Victory." I can progress through the raid without a problem. This was the first occurrence but, I reported 100% of the time because I know it will now happen forever more. I have the exact same problem with the AAT Raid. I have not been able to complete it in more than two months because of the same "Connection Error" bug. I am really getting TIRED of this. I have lost SO MANY rewards because of it too. PLEASE HELP!
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I am thinking maybe it has something to do with BB-8. I played the raid tonight with zFinn, CLS, BB-8, C-3PO, and Raid Han. It was the first time I haven't been able to complete the raid. I have no problem with the team of CLS, Thrawn, R2-D2, TIe Fighter Pilot, and Raid Han. Who knows, that team might not work now.

The bug is always happens at the end of the raid. I can progress through Phases 1-3 without a problem. When I complete Phase 4, the "Connection Error" happens. It HAS to be a bug. I have followed all troubleshooting suggestions. I have even gone as far as doing a factory reset on my phone, reinstalling the game, and hoping for the best. NOTHING has worked.

It happens no matter how my phone is connected. I have a good, strong, connection on WiFi and also on the mobile network.

    This happened to me last night in the Rancor raid, with the same team I've used on auto for ages with no issues (JTR CLS Han BB8 R2).  However, I tried something new - I turned off the vpn that my Lookout Mobile Security app runs in the background.  As soon as I did that, the score posted.

    I'm going to try it in HAAT tonight with C3PO on the team and see if that fixes the problem.

    @mcdapper2016 Thanks for the info, I checked your account for the dates and times mentioned and I couldn't find any related errors server side. Were the times provided for when you started the raid or when you finished and got the Connection Error?

    One thing worth looking into: I use a Samsung Note 9 and I had the Smart Network Switch turned off. I now turned it on and will see if I can repro on my device.

    How about your device? Does it have Smart Network Switch turned off or on? If it's off, try turning it on and please let me know how it goes. If it was on, then try turning it off.

    From the info provided, it doesn't look like it has anything to do with the squad used. My suspicion is that it's connected either to the connection and/or long raid/event runs.

    You're welcome @CG_MindTricks. Hmmm, okay. The times that I provided were the times each raid or event finished which in turn resulted in the Connection Error.

    My Smart Switch was turned off and I just enabled it. Maybe that will solve the problem. Wouldn't that be comical.

    I did the Rancor Raid last night hoping to get an error and magically, I did not. I used the zFinn, C-3PO, zRaid Han Solo, zCommander Luke Skywalker, and zBB-8 team again. I was at a movie theater waiting for friends to arrive and used my mobile network. There was no problem. Maybe the environment is a factor. Other than one Connection Error occurrence, I have never had a problem with the Rancor Raid. It is the AAT Raid that is the problem.

    I am not convinced it really is a connection error. When it happens, as soon as the AAT Raid concludes, it immediately displays Connection Error. Normally, 1-3 seconds pass before Victory displays. The Connection Error it seems happens in milliseconds. But, there is no evidence to support that theory on your end.

    I will report back the next time there is an AAT raid. I am guessing that will be Friday night. Do you know if there is a game update coming today or tomorrow?

    @tvsfrink Really appreciate the information. Please let me know if you find out anything else.

    As for the rest of the players who posted on this thread, do you have the same or similar app installed by any chance? If so, can you please try disabling it temporarily just to confirm if this is what is causing the issue?

    @CG_MindTricks I think @tvsfrink has found the problem. The last two Raids I have participated in, The Pit and AAT, the Lookout VPN was off and my scores posted immediately. I hesitate to even turn it on now because that is most likely the problem. As soon as it is disabled, it turns back on within seconds. I need to figure out how to permanently disable it and then turn it back on.

    @CG_MindTricks I might have found another bug in the AAT raid. Raid Han Solo's protection SHOULD regenerate when BB-8 is present correct? For some reason, it did not the entire raid the last time I played which was Friday, January 11, 2019 from 7:00 PM to just before 8:00 PM. He is the only one whose protection did not replenish.

    @mcdapper2016 Thanks for the additional confirmation on the "Connection Error" issue. I will now mark @tvsfrink reply as the solution.

    As in regards to the other potential issue you mentioned with BB-8 and Han Solo, if you are referring to BB-8's special "Illuminated Destiny", it only provides 20% Protection recovery to Resistance and Droid allies. Han Solo is Rebel, not Resistance, so it's working as intended.

    @mcdapper2016 you can go to Lookout settings and disable safe browsing, that will turn off VPN until you turn safe browsing on again.
