Yep same for me though using an S24. The game stutters and either resolves itself after 20-30 seconds or crashes and needs a restart. All seemed to happen after a patch release.
As an update*
Appreciate this might not work for everyone but I found that putting the phone on Airplane Mode but still having WiFi enabled seemed to restore the game to a non-buggy/normal state.
Hopefully that work around is helpful to some and realise that doesn't solve the problem of playing the game outside of WiFi areas.
is the screen still hot while you play?
Wish this worked for me. Tried all manner of combinations of that .. and no luck. Pity.
