Solution for game being stuck at the 'Loading Cantina' screen

Greetings all Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes players who are experiencing the phenomenon of having your game freeze at the 'Loading Cantina' screen without it loading the game.

I had the same issue, and I tried various methods to address it- switching between WiFi and 3G/4G, restarting my mobile device (I am using an iPhone 5S) and so on. I even contacted the EA tech support to see if they could resolve it. No luck.

Then I found a solution online that worked.

For iOS users, go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. This will reboot your device and erase your WiFi passwords, so you will have to key them in again after your device restarts.

I realized that the game gets stuck at the 'Loading Cantina' screen because it is unable to access and connect to the Game Center. I think Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes is a game that is dependent on the Game Center for storing achievements and other player data. By resetting your network settings, I believe it repairs the connection between the game and the Game Center.

I will share this on other forums to help others who are facing the same problem.

Note: The above steps are for iOS users. I am uncertain if Android users have the same log-in problem.

I am facing the above-mentioned issue again, with my game stuck at the Cantina screen. I've also noticed that I get a frozen white screen when I attempt to access the Game Center page. I have Googled possible fixes for this and found the following:

Apparently, this white screen appears after iOS users have upgraded to version 9.2. I am one such person. My iPad is at version 9.1, and shows no symptoms of the malady that plagues my iPhone.

For this, I do not have any solutions as of yet- it appears to be an OS version problem which is out of my range of expertise. I will still attempt the 'Reset Network Settings' option to see if it clears things up.

Anyone who has any remedies for this problem, kindly share with the community. Thanx!

    Hey All,

Finally someone that sees it's not an issue with EA itself, but with the Game Center reliability factor. I found the method of installing the iOS beta from https://beta.apple.com, installing it, restarting, and it normally connects. Sometimes you may have to re-install the 'beta' , but it only takes a minute or so.

That being said, the Original Poster's solution is the BEST I've found to date and would recommend it above any others.

  • i tried your fix but it didnt work. what else do you know anything else i can try??

Disregard. The solution was working but no longer seems to matter as I'm stuck and have been for the last 24 hours.

Same issue here - tried everything that's mentioned in this thread, but only seems to fix the issue until you close the game.

A "quicker" method I've found is to soft reset the iPhone (home+power buttons), but it's only a temp fix.

Basically: play game > restart phone > play game > restart phone etc...

Running iOS 9.3 beta, same issue as 9.2.

I would say that this is solely Apple's issue to resolve, but none of my other games that use Game Centre seem to have this problem...
