Sims 1 Legacy "No Interactions available"

I'm playing Bob and Betty Newbie in Sims 1 Legacy, and after a few in game days I will get this bug where one of the sims can no longer interact with the other, when you click on the sim it just says "no interactions available". I searched the web for a fix but the link to it is broken, since it is old and for the original release. Any tips on a fix or is anyone else aware of this? If I uninstall my game or reset my save file it goes away but keeps coming back.
