Sims 1 objects glitch.

When I load a household in the Sims 1, none of the items or walls load correctly. Sometimes they appear when a Sims uses them autonomously but will disappear again once they’re done. When exiting to the neighborhood, the household creates visual glitch on map when saved.

I’ve tried restarting the game, computer and “repaired” it on the EA App but nothing seems to work. Huge letdown.

Hi there. I'm having the same issue and wondering if you could take a look at my dxdiag? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

  • jaypea2514  I would be happy to look at your dxdiag, but it didn't attach to your post.  Just create a new post here with the dxdiag attached and tag me, and I'll look when I'm online again.

  • jaypea2514  Sorry for the late reply; I've been a bit busy lately.

Intel doesn't offer a newer driver for your processor and graphics chip, but Microsoft lists one from 2022 that you can try.  Download the first result here:

    https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=intel%20hd%20graphics%20505

Run the installer as an admin: right-click the download and select "Run as administrator."  Restart your computer after installing and before trying to play.

    Thanks for your response.

I don't seem to have the option to "run as administrator" when right-clicking on the file (see screenshot). Also, it looks like it just put a bunch of files into a folder and I don't see anywhere to actually install the files?

  • I also have a similar problem with mine.  The objects, walls and floors will not appear with some objects appearing here and there for a second.  I just bought the game yesterday, and I already un-installed it and reinstalled it and then repaired it.  Nothing seems to work.  I'm hoping the problem is easy to fix!  Could someone help me in finding a solution?  Thank you.

jaypea2514  I didn't realize the download would give you a .cab file.  (I use a Mac most of the time and can't test a lot of Windows files, so I don't bother.)  Here are instructions for running a .cab file:

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/66346-install-cab-file-windows-10-a.html

Shannap30  Please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
