SaxonW I'm reasonably sure the first one was present in the original, so I don't know that it could be considered a bug so much as a design limitation or choice that wasn't addressed.
The second was definitely present in the original. There's a reason the meme about a sim freaking out due to a plate sitting on the floor became such a popular meme.
