The Sims (1) Mirror's won't work for child?

I would like to know why I can't change the look of any of My Sim's children after they have grown from baby?

The Mirror's do not work for children Sim's in order to change the way they look, like the Original game is able to do. (Mirror's) claim only adult use, and the only mirror the child Can use is only to brush their teeth, I am not happy that I am not able to make the children look a certain way that I had them before.

The Legacy game should work exactly like the Original or better, not Worse!. :(

  • In The Sims 1, you can't change your Sims' appearance using a mirror. That's not how it works. To change a Sim's appearance, whether they're an adult or a child, you need to click on their wardrobe.

It's important to note that changing your Sims' appearance in The Sims 1 is limited to changing the clothes they wear. You can't change their faces or anything like that (unless you use external programs to do so).

  • Really? then why does it say I can use a mirror in My Actual book & on wiki that I can? & I was able to do so in My (Original) Sims 1 game which I still have the actual (original) for still.

The Legacy game isn't letting me, but I know I was able to before cause there were certain look's I wanted for the children in My game, I just did not rely on them looking the way they did from Baby to Child. (Not), & no I never used Mod's or CC for it either.

  • I don't recall being able to  change the children's appearance?  Maybe someone who still has the original installed can help with this. I don't think I have the patience to reinstall mine again. 🙂 Perhaps with a mod?   I'll be following this as well because I would love to know.

There must be some mistake. In The Sims 1, it was never possible to change the appearance of Sims using a mirror. This is a mechanic that began to exist in The Sims 2. In fact, on The Sims Wiki, on the page dedicated to mirrors, there is no information about changing appearance in The Sims 1 using a mirror; there is only information about this for The Sims 2, The Sims 3 and The Sims 4.

I have played The Sims 1 since its release in 2000, and I currently have the original game installed on my computer, as well as the Legacy version, and I can say without a doubt that it is not possible to change the appearance of Sims using a mirror.

As I said before, in The Sims 1, the furthest you can go to change your Sim's appearance is by using a wardrobe to change their clothes.

Thanks!  I really didn't want to reinstall everything again to see if I had missed something, the joy of getting old.  😉
