Beach Lot Terrain Modification Crash

Hi there, there’s a severe bug (possibly memory related?) that occurs if you modify terrain on a beach lot. I’m unsure as to what the cause is, but if you see the videos, you can possibly replicate it, but it’s completely random if the game fails and crashes, or the neighbourhood view will completely bug out. This needs patching ASAP as this can break saves when it’s crashing in the loading screens!

I’ve tested this with normal lots, but I can’t seem to get any errors with those at the moment, only beach lots.

Since I play on Steam Deck, I also made multiple Proton logs with these crashes or glitches. I’ve posted videos for now and I’ll get the Proton Logs uploaded in a couple minutes.

The neighbourhood was created in the latest patch, you can see which version it is if you look in the top right corner in the videos.

  • Blayer98 I have attempted to reproduce this and couldn't even get as far as you did. I placed it on the same spot on the Bluewater terrain and tried both residential and community lots. The lot mostly crashes on the loading screen, it has the same visual glitches, but I cannot even draw a room without it crashing. Flattening the lot does the same.

At first, I thought it was an issue with steep terrain, but it does not crash on non-beach lots no matter how funky the terrain is. Terrains with flatter beaches, such as Twikki Island, seem mostly alright aside from the waves' texture appearing on the front of the lot.

  • I copied the Test Hood from Legacy to Ultimate Collection, and I can confirm the issue does not appear to occur there. I’ll post a screenshot of it when I can. :)

  • Blayer98 After the latest update newly placed beach lots (even in steep areas where they originally crashed) seem to be fine. I'm not 100% convinced they have been fully fixed, but it's looking good so far.
