Can't launch the Sims 2 since the 2/6 patch

I was actually doing fine with the Sims 2, the first patch actually fixed most of my crash bugs so I was happy to see some of my bigger issues like the tinny audio was supposed to be fixed in 2/6. ...

    EDIT: I tried the solution in this thread and it worked, I had to delete my caches!
