In the March 14 patch, Fullscreen mode was replaced with Borderless mode. The game can now only switch between Borderless and Windowed modes.
The Sims 2 now uses a borderless window to provide the fullscreen experience.
Edge Scrolling only works in Fullscreen, so taking that out means Edge Scrolling is not functional anymore, even when enabled in game options. At the moment there is no way to enable it unless it gets fixed in the future. The camera can still be controlled with WASD keys, or by holding the right mouse button and dragging the cursor.
Wow... I'm sure players will appreciate the transparency, but this is not a solution. I'd encourage anybody who is having this issue to continue to complain about this, it's clear it is game breaking and the option in game is now broken. I'd argue Edge Scrolling is an accessibility feature, although not explicitly stated and should return.
You get the choice in the original DVD/CD and ultimate collection versions. The actual solution would be this, if you had a choice in the legacy collection.
Add "-w" to the shortcut, Steam or EA Play Launcher options and use any upscaling software like Lossless Scaling (via steam) or Fullscreenizer. Edge scrolling will be broken in this but you have a choice with the caveat.
Feedback - Give users full screen mode back, let them play the game with edge scrolling, how it has been played for 20 years. Add the option to go borderless with a warning that some features might not work.
