Boost!

I have had two of my college sims (different households/ worlds) be corrupted in the way that no memories formed for them anymore (+things like not eating and cooking anymore etc) and both of them had the science hobby i.e. they used the telescope A LOT. Seeing as they cannot even get abducted while in college, the issue might stem from the telescope activity/ science hobby progression in general?
