Ok, how do I fix them?First off, I can only play on 800x600 resolution. There's no other option. I could play on a bigger resolution on my laptop just fine! With the exact same version of Windows.Second off, when I try to install Pets, I have to wait forever for the installation to complete. I get the please wait window that doesn't go away. I had this issue with Nightlife, but solved it by disconnecting the internet alltogether. It didn't work with Pets.Suggestions?

Did you use the Graphics Rule SGR app to change your resolution and get the game to recognize your chip or card? It's unfortunate but most new hardware is going to need that program to make the game see our cards since EA's list of cards supported ended with cards from Nvidia and ATI, Intel etc., in 2008. So the game thinks our newer cards are actually too old to run the game and why we all have to use the Graphics Rule Sgr program. Exactly what is the problem about lot view? Is it still your resolution?

Are you installing via disc? If so, your Pets disc might be broken.

Yeah, I'm installing via disk. But I managed too install it in the end. I still had traces of the faulty installation and that's why I got the error.
I found a workaround around the other problem too, but....

There is still an issue with my options. I can't change the lot view options. AT ALL.

The problem is that View distance is stuck to 'small' and I want to set it to 'large', so I can view more of the neighborhood, not just a couple of houses. The options are there, but I can't check them.

And yeah, I used the Graphics Rules file to be able to change the resolution. Maybe I broke something when I did so?

It's there. Use the Ctrl + F to bring up the Find tool and put it in there (without the x). :)

I can't test it in my userStartup.cheat because I'm not having the problem and I wouldn't know if it's working. Here are two links to tutorials on making a userstartup.cheat.

All you need to do is open Notepad - type in the cheat with the number you want it- save it as userStartup.
example: uintProp lotSkirtSizeIncrease 36
Then close the notepad and rename it to userStartup.cheat
If you didn't save it there, Move the file to Documents\EA Games\The Sims™ 2 Ultimate Collection\Config
If it's set up right the game will activate the code on start up.

...I don't explain things well, @Scribal_Goddess can do it better, I'm sure. :)

Nope, couldn't find it. Even with this tool. :/ I guess it's not there.
Maybe someone can send me that piece of the code so I can integrate it in the file myself?
I don't have the Ultimate Collection. I've merely installed the game from my old CD's not via Origin.

I did the cheat code document, but I will confirm if it works next time I launch the game.
