My sims disappear whenever I go to the witch place and come back!

There are a father and his daughter and then the father became a witch. Then I bring him to the witch place and gave his time to be a wicked witch. Then after he went home and at home he's gone like he ever existed and no further in the daughter's relationship. Then the authority took her 'cause she's alone. This happened twice now! I spent a lot of time to them. I miss them so much.
