Sims 2 Legacy Cannot "Get Mail" To Pay Bills

Recently after making a Servo robot I encountered an inability to get the mail from the mailbox. After multiple in game days and many attempts it does not allow me access. I have exited the lot and restarted the game, reinstalled the game, however this has not allowed me to get the mail. I also need to pay the bills immediately as it is the last day to pay the bills by now.

Anyone know how to fix?
