Object Error leading to Deleted sims
Everything seemed normal for about 10 hours, when suddenly the game became EXTREMELY laggy (1 frame per minute) and I couldn't figure out why.
It kept lagging for a while and then this window appeared. I tried pressing "Reset" a couple of times hoping it would work. Finally, I ended up pressing "Delete" and the game started behaving normally again. Reading the window, I figured that it was an issue with my Sims promotion (she was due one) as it did not trigger and then, every day after work this window (or a similar one) would show up.
After a few in game days, my child started having trouble - not being able to use the stairs of the house anymore. I realized I couldn't delete the stairs and got annoyed, decided to move the house to a bigger one. It seemed to have fixed it, even though the Object Error window was still popping every once in a while.
Finally, I made my child (the one that couldn't use the stairs previously) look at the telescope and when he was supposed to receive a Logic point, I got this window. I pressed reset once, twice, thrice, the window was gone... but so was the child.
Memories of the child are still there - I don't si the $Subject string, still the child's name. I quit without saving, but seeing a lot of posts about this makes me think that it won't make him come back.
