Sims 2 Application Terminated when Loading Household

The game worked completely fine until a recent update that caused Direct3D errors. After the patch today that fixed that specific error, I am now crashing with the error message "The application has ...

Is this happening in a neighborhood that was created after today's patch?

You'll need to move or delete the Neighborhoods folder in Documents -> EA Games -> The Sims 2 and a new Neighborhoods file will generate when you launch the game again. Be sure to delete the entire Neighborhoods folder rather than deleting the sub-folders within that file. 

If so, could you provide an EA Error Report ID and DxDiag for tracking purposes?

    Hi!

    This happened both with a neighborhood I created when the game re-released and with a new one I created today after the patch. Deleting the Neighborhoods file didn't solve it.
