sims 2 crashing every 1hour to 2hours

my sims 2 game keeps crashing at least every 2 hours but sometimes as often as every 1 hour, and it also happens right when I get home from community lots, its been happening before I downloaded any mods and cc, but the only mods I have is a plant that cheats motives. is it possible its happening because i accidentally left right as my sim was about to go into labor? though the time it happened earlier there was no active pregnancies. i also notice the background turns pink/magenta and black in spots right before the immediate crash.. Please help I have loved the sims 2 more than I think I love the sims 3 and the sims 3 had been my number one forever. but if it keeps remaining this crashy, its going to lose its spot in favorites. even the sims4 runs better than the sims2 for me, and we all know how bad sims4 runs half the time.

today was when i started having crashes immediately after returning from community lots with pink blotches showing up.
