Sims 2 crashing without warning when entering game

The last two days i have tried to play the sims 2. Up until now it has worked just fine. But yesterday when i entered a world and started my household the game just shuts down without any error code ...

    I figured it out! It was the lot that for some reason forced my game to shut down. I placed the "camping" apartment lot in my own world and apparently that was enough to ruin everything 🫣 I made my own apartments and now it's smooth sailing with my sim 😎

How did you even get into the game to fix what happened? Mine won't let me in and I have no idea what I might have done to crash it. I was building a house, which I've done a thousand times, and when I went to save it it crashed and won't let me back in even to the neighborhood tab.
