Sims 2 legacy - broken family after crash

Hi everyone,  

I bought the sims 2 re-release (legacy) yesterday and started playing it. Everything seemed to work normal, when playing with my sim family I sometimes recieved an in game message about an error, but it seemed liked nothing ever actually happened when I got them. ( so I didn't really think much of it ) After a while I tried to make my sims go on vacation and thats when a crash happend and one of my sims just disappeared. The only proof of her exsistence was a memory. 

That kinda sucked because I made a lot of improvement already within my family. I decided to make the sim again and add her into the existing household because all the other sims where still there. But ever since I did that my family has been broken and the cat suddenly disappeared too. I can visit the family on the lot but they are frozen in place and every action I try to do just disappears.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or i someone knows how to fix it.
