Sims 2 legacy - suddenly crashing no error message

I have been playing my legagcy game without issue since october. Then suddenly yesterday, it randomly crashed with no error message. Yesterday, it was during game play. Today, it is whenever i try to...

    That actually worked!  The game actually loads now to the neighborhoods.  I haven't tried anything beyond that point.  I'm sorry but I don't know what a dxdiag is or how to generate it.  Thank you so much for your help!!
