Sims 2 legacy - suddenly crashing no error message

I have been playing my legagcy game without issue since october. Then suddenly yesterday, it randomly crashed with no error message. Yesterday, it was during game play. Today, it is whenever i try to...

This game is awful. I can play for around 5 - 10 minutes before the game randomly crashes. no event logs or anything. and sometimes all of the grass turns blue and then it crashes but that's rarer than the regular crashes. I dont use mods or anything like that.  Ive tried everything from reinstalling the game, deleting neighbourhoods but inevitably it still crashes. EA WTF ARE YOU DOING
